The desk

My Linux desktop, built as a designed object rather than something configured until it happened to look acceptable. It has a custom theme, a status bar, and live tiles driven by a small internal message bus.

Reviews are measurements. Ink mass is checked by linear luminance. Accent share is checked by an HSV mask. Alignment is checked by crop-and-measure. The layout is not signed off by eye. Nothing about the review is a feeling. Each pass has a measurement, and the measurement is what decides.

QML draws the shell. Python and shell feed it. Linux is the machine underneath. This site inherits its visual language from that desktop. The palette, the hairline rules and the single filled orange mark are the same decisions, on a page instead of a bar. The repository is private, so this entry has no link.
